The China League Soccer (CSL) title race is heating up as Shenhua, the current leaders, face off against Tianjin TEDA and Shanghai SIPG for the top spot.
With just eight games left to play, Shenhua have a commanding lead at the top of the table with 75 points from their first 22 matches. They have won 19 out of those 22 games, conceding only six goals in the process.
Tianjin TEDA, who were once considered one of the strongest teams in the league, have struggled this season, having only managed to win five of their 22 matches so far. They have conceded 28 goals in that time, which has contributed to them being in danger of missing out on a playoff place.
However, they have shown signs of improvement recently, winning two of their last three matches and scoring four goals in total. This could give them hope of clawing back into contention for the playoffs.
Shanghai SIPG, meanwhile, have been in impressive form this season, winning 14 of their 22 matches and conceding only nine goals in the process. They currently sit second in the table behind Shenhua, but with seven games remaining, they can still catch up if they continue their current form.
Overall, it looks like the CSL title race will be a closely fought battle between Shenhua, TEDA and SIPG. With just eight games left to play, anything can happen and we're sure to see some exciting football in the coming weeks.
